Firmenich has received a gold rating from EcoVadis for being among the most sustainable suppliers in the fragrance and flavor industry.
In 2015, Firmenich set a goal to become a carbon neutral company. Among some of the efforts to become a carbon-neutral company were using renewable energy sources for their manufacturing sites, decreasing water usage and reducing CO2 emissions by 20%. Additionally, Firmenich has opened a new flavor plant Zhangjiagang, China where the company will continue to implement its sustainability standards.
“I am very proud of our Ecovadis gold rating score of 75% as it firmly positions us as the leader of our industry, and among the top 1% of all 30,000 suppliers assessed,” said Gilbert Ghostine, CEO of Firmenich. “This achievement underlines the relentless efforts of our teams around the world dedicated to leading our industry forward in environmental responsibility.”
