BASF is planning to build a new vitamin A plant in Ludwigshafen, Germany that will produce 1,500 tons per year. The planned investment is expected to be operational by 2020.

"The complete integration of the proposed site [allows us to use our] resources optimally. This significant investment also underlines the competitiveness of the Ludwigshafen site," said Michael Heinz, member of the board, BASF.

Being the leading manufacturer of vitamin A for both animal and human nutrition along with the cosmetics industry, the company will be able to support growth plans and deliver high reliability and better quality products in the years to come.
