Comax Offers Flavor Trends for 2011

Comax Flavors’ (Melville, NY) development team delivers its “FlavorVision” for 2011, a culmination of its FlavorLab predictions and culinary trend-exchange data gathered during the past year. This year, they company focused on three distinct flavor groups: those that give consumers irresistible motivation to try something different; those that offer an invitation to explore new cuisines with provocative flavor combinations; and those that spark pleasant, comforting memories. Comax’s 2011 flavor trends fit into three categories.

“Homespun” are flavors that kept people grounded and feeling good about their lives, including pumpkin pie, gingerbread, French toast and toasted peanut.

“Soft exotics” are familiar flavors with an intriguing twist, such as young coconut, orange caramel, finger lime and chocolate persimmon.

And “Take-me-away” are flavors that give permission to explore new territories, and they include Manila mango, vanilla pandan, Seville orange and Chinese five spices.
