1.Dove Launches Limited Edition Garden Tea Party Collection
Personal care brand Dove announced the launch of its limited edition Garden Tea Party collection, available exclusively in-store and online at Target. The collection takes inspiration from fresh florals and afternoon tea.
“We are continuing to evolve Dove’s trusted care by combining it with highly sensorial, experiential innovations in new collections like the limited edition Garden Tea Party collection,” said head of Dove US skin cleansing, purpose and engagement Kathryn Holl Fernandez. “We took our beloved body wash, antiperspirant deodorant, beauty bar and scrub formulas and infused new elevated fragrances that capture the feeling of the season. From delicate honeysuckle and gardenia to fresh English pear blossom, it’s about creating small, joyful moments of self-care that feel and smell as beautiful as they are nourishing.”
2. Marie Claire UK Announces Winners of 2025 Fragrance Awards
Fashion and lifestyle magazine Marie Claire UK announced the winners of its first fragrance awards on July 8, 2025. Fifteen winners were chosen from across the industry by a panel of industry experts and Marie Claire UK editors.
“As the beauty industry’s fastest growing category, perfume is a big business,” said editor Nessa Humayun. “But while we’re committed to platforming the newest innovations and disruptors, we know that scent is intrinsically linked to memory, and many of us have re-purchased and loved the same classic icons for years.”
3. IFRA Releases Updated Transparency List
On July 10, 2025, The International Fragrance Association (IFRA) published the 2025 edition of its Transparency list, a comprehensive overview of over 3,000 ingredients used in fragrance creation. The list is intended to enhance consumer confidence, industry accountability and safety standards.
The IFRA Transparency List is compiled every four years using anonymously aggregated industry data. This year’s edition includes 3,312 fragrance ingredients (or substances used primarily for their odor properties or to mask malodor) and 379 functional ingredients (ingredients that contribute to fragrance stability and performance). Among the total, 1,021 are natural complex substances.
4. Turpaz Acquires Controlling Stake in Attractive Scent SAS
Flavor and fragrance company Turpaz Industries announced the completion of its acquisition of a controlling stake in French fragrance company Attractive Scent SAS. Turpaz purchased 68.6% of Attractive Scent for €24.7 million.
Attractive Scent was founded in 2018 in Grasse. The company develops, manufactures and markets fragrance extracts for the fine fragrance industry, as well as personal care, cosmetics and air care products. Further, the company has a broad customer base across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and South America. The company operates a production site, which includes a development laboratory and sales center, in the Grasse region.
According to the acquisition agreement, the founders of Attractive Scent, Marc Langasque and Arnaud Fourre, will continue to lead the company and join the management team of Turpaz’s fragrance division. The agreement also includes a mechanism to purchase the remaining shares of Attractive Scent based on its business performance.
5. dsm-firmenich Announces Jonathan Simon as Next President of Fine Fragrance
On July 1, 2025, dsm-firmenich announced the appointment of Jonathan Simon as the president of its fine fragrance business. Simon will succeed Jerry Vittoria, who will retire from the company after 35 years of service.
Simon is currently the vice president of the Procter & Gamble account for dsm-firmenich. He joined the company in 2020 and has been the global leader for the P&G account since 2024. Before joining dsm-firmenich, Simon spent 12 years with L’Oréal, working with brands such as Lancôme, Viktor & Rolf and Cacharel. His experience covers both the fine fragrance and personal care categories, and he has worked in global roles in several different geographies.
According to the company’s press release, the transition between Simon and Vittoria will take place over the next year, allowing for a “well-structured and orchestrated” transition.
