Diacetyl-Free Formulations Hitting Store Shelves

With an Occupational Safety and Health Administration's final diacetyl rules forthcoming, ConAgra has joined other microwave popcorn producers such as Weaver Popcorn Co., General Mills and American Pop Corn Co. in forgoing diacetyl. Con Agra has reformulated both its Orville Redenbacher's and ACT II brands with no added diacetyl. Reformulated products will likely appear in stores soon.

According to the company, the brands' redesigned packages will sport a "No Added Diacetyl" notice along with verbiage stating "New Great Tasting Butter Flavor."
