Gold for Green: Firmenich Recognized for Sustainability

For the third year in a row, Firmenich has received a Gold rating from EcoVadis for its sustainability efforts.

The recognition places the company among the top 1% of all suppliers and industry leaders in the fragrance and flavors industry.

EcoVadis evaluated more than 45,000 companies from 150 countries according to 21 criteria and four categories, including the environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. Policies and initiatives were analyzed following international CSR standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative, United Nations Global Compact and ISO 26000.

This year, Firmenich increased its score seven points to 82 out of 100.

“Our EcoVadis gold rating score of 82% not only positions us as the leader of our industry but also among the top 1% of the 45,000 global suppliers assessed,” said CEO Gilber Ghostine. “This gold ranking recognizes the passion and hard work of our teams around the world and inspires us to keep raising our industry standards.”
