2018 WFFC Scholarships Applications Available

Women studying to work in the flavor and fragrance industries can now apply for the 2018 Rita Flynn Memorial Fragrance Scholarship Award and the 2018 WFFC Flavor Scholarship Award. The scholarships, from Women in Flavor and Fragrance Commerce, Inc. (WFFC), are each worth $3,000.

Eligible applicants must be:

Female;
Currently enrolled or accepted to an accredited college or university; and
Studying or planning to study in programs relating to the industries (including business, chemistry, food science, microbiology and cosmetics and fragrance marketing).

Submissions are due at on October 27, 2017 (or postmarked by October 25, 2017). Scholarship details and applications can be found at wffc.org.

For decades, the flavor and fragrance industry has operated within a relatively stable classification system. Ingredients were broadly categorized as natural extracts, fermentation-derived materials or synthetically produced molecules. These distinctions were largely sufficient when production routes were clearly separated and molecular identity aligned closely with manufacturing method. However, these boundaries are becoming increasingly difficult to define.
