Coca-Cola has announced that it will expand its Dasani Sparkling brand with three new flavors.

Flavor in the Water

First introduced in 2014, Dasani Sparkling is a line of unsweetened, zero calorie and naturally flavored sparkling water beverages. Currently, the line of beverages includes flavors like berry, black cherry, Meyer lemon, raspberry lemonade, tropical pineapple, watermelon, blood orange and others. The three new beverages will include pomegranate blueberry, pear kiwi and original flavors, available in April 2018.

“DASANI Sparkling has seen great success since its debut four years ago, and we’re listening to our growing fan base and their desire for new and exciting flavors,” said Annie Lohman, brand manager, DASANI Sparkling. “We’re always looking for opportunities to create delicious, guilt-free options, and we’re excited to share these new flavors with those who need a mindful pause from their every day.”

A Time of Change

The additions to the Dasani Sparkling brand comes at a time of similar changes to the Coca-Cola company. Earlier in 2018, the company relaunched its Diet Coke brand with new cans and flavors, as a way to appeal to shifting consumer demands and preferences. Coca-Cola has also recently released an organic coconut water at the Natural Products Expo West and has rebranded its Sprite brand.

Both the additions to the Dasani Sparkling brand and the changes made to the Coca-Cola brands were made amidst changing consumer demands. According to a Fortune article, overall diet coke sales has dipped by .8% in 2016 and 1.2% in 2015, with bottled water and energy drinks making the most impact.
