1. IFF Introduces AI-Powered ScentChat App
On February 4, 2025, flavor and fragrance company IFF announced the launch of ScentChat, an AI-powered instant messaging app. The app is intended to help enhance the fragrance creation process with the addition of real-time consumer feedback.
2. Givaudan Announces 'Outstanding Performance' in 2024 Full Year Results Report
Swiss-based company Givaudan announced its full year results for 2024. The company’s group sales at the end of the year were CHF 7.41 million, an increase of 12.3% compared to 2023.
“We are very pleased with our financial performance in 2024, driven by a high level of volume-related sales growth across all markets, segments and customer groups,” said chief executive officer Gilles Andrier. “We are fully on track with our 2025 strategy and have continued confidence in our portfolio and the broad range of capabilities that we have to support the growth of our customers. 3. IFRA Releases 2024 Annual Report
The International Fragrance Association (IFRA) released its Annual Report 2024 to showcase its achievements over the past year. The report was released in video form and is now available to view on the association’s website.
The report highlights IFRA’s work in sustainability, scientific innovation and safety standards across the global fragrance industry. Further, insights from IFRA’s regional activities in Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America and India are included.
4. Black-Owned Fragrance Week Returns to Celebrate Black Perfumers
Black-Owned Fragrance Week returned February 1 to February 8, 2025, celebrating Black-owned brands around the world. Founder Glenn Davis, also known as mrcologne76, began Black-Owned Fragrance Week to amplify the voices and contributions of Black fragrance creators.
“Since its inception in 2021, Black-Owned Fragrance Week has rapidly grown traction in the fragrance industry,” Davis said. “I’m ecstatic to see brands and content creators who aren’t officially partnering with BOFW take the initiative to support the event, which affirms how much Black-Owned Fragrance Week has become a household name and its global influence.”
5. Samantha Mane Becomes MANE Group CEO
On February 20, 2025, flavor and fragrance company MANE Group announced that Samantha Mane has succeeded her father, Jean, as chief executive officer. Samantha Mane will be the first woman to preside over the company.
