Photolabile pro-fragrance esters
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/144484
Publication date: Oct. 1, 2015
Assignee: Henkel AG & Co.

The present invention relates to specific ketones that act as long-lasting photolabile pro-fragrances (see patent for chemical depiction). It also relates to detergents, cleansing agents, textile treatments, cosmetic agents and air fresheners containing them.

According to the inventors, these fragrance storage substances permit the sustained release of fragrance ketones, particularly damascones. Furthermore, a larger molecular weight reduces their volatility, compared with others known in the prior art. The compositions also make it possible to reduce the total amount of perfume required to impart a sense of freshness.

The present invention is useful as a fragrance storage material for all the usual alpha, beta-unsaturated scent ketones, most preferably damascones and damascenone. By exposure to light wavelengths of 200 nm to 600 nm, the ketones are released.
