On October 31, 2025, aromatic product company PAYAN BERTRAND announced the construction of a new industrial site dedicated to fragrance compounds in Le Plan-de-Grasse. The new site is scheduled to open at the end of 2026.
According to the company’s press release, the €12 million investment will provide PAYAN BERTRAND with a state-of-the-art, high-performance and sustainable production facility. The site will comprise 2,800 square meters of highly automated spaces to bring together the company’s fragrance creation and evaluation departments, as well as application and quality control laboratories. PAYAN BERTRAND’s new facility will serve the perfumery, cosmetics, personal care, hygiene, home fragrance and various industrial sectors.
“This new site embodies our commitment to combining tradition and innovation while reinforcing our development in Grasse, the historic birthplace of perfumery,” said Dominique Prowl, chairwoman of PAYAN BERTRAND’s supervisory board.
The company plans to operate through two distinct yet complementary business units by 2027: the new “Pacome” site in Grasse, dedicated to fragrances, and the historic “1866” site refocused on the production of natural aromatic ingredients for the perfumery and flavor industries. Company officials hope this strategic reorganization will enable PAYAN BERTRAND to continue its growth while strengthening its identity as an independent Grasse-based company.
