One result is Vetiver Absolute, produced through solvent extraction followed by an ethanol wash to capture a broader spectrum of aromatic constituents than steam distillation alone. The process yields a smoother, softer and more rounded profile, with a dry woody core complemented by subtle sweetness reminiscent of the root itself. It offers perfumers a distinctive interpretation of vetiver—bringing greater nuance and richness to sophisticated woody, chypre, oriental and niche fragrance compositions.
