Azelis has opened a new extraction and distillation facility in Denmark to produce smoke flavors.

Close to Copenhagen, the new plant holds distillation columns, storage, blending, a laboratory and office facilities.

Azelis sells their smoke flavors under the brand Scansmoke, which allows produces to create smokey undertones in food applications, effectively reducing salt in the recipe.

The new facility holds up Azelis’ commitment to sustainability, as it runs on bio-based feeds and incorporates a downstream system that handles and minimizes waste.
