Tosla Nutricosmetics has released Velious 3.0, the third generation of its award-winning flavor-masking system designed to conceal unpleasant tastes in liquid beauty supplements — without sugar or artificial additives.
Boosting Actives Capacity, Flavor Profiles
Previous versions of the Velious technology were designed to mask off-flavors in collagen beauty supplements, and were then upgraded to carry active ingredients.
Velious 3.0 builds on this foundation, supporting higher concentrations of actives while maintaining formulation stability, color and safety. According to the company, testing showed formulations containing sugar exhibited color change over time, whereas Velious 3.0 maintained a stable appearance and performance.
The system also reportedly broadens the range of achievable flavor profiles, enabling more complex combinations without added sugar.
"At Tosla, we are continuously working to refine and elevate our formulations, always striving to anticipate and meet the changing expectations of both our brand partners and end consumers," explained Uroš Gotar, chief innovation officer for Tosla. "The development of Velious 3.0 reflects this commitment."
Gotar adds that the company is driven to push boundaries in taste, functionality and safety while setting a higher benchmark for the nutricosmetics industry — particularly in making even the most challenging actives genuinely enjoyable to consume.
"Velious 3.0 reflects a significant step forward," he continued. "The technology has been refined to deliver more advanced, complex and nuanced flavor profiles in sugar-free liquid formats, and also to mask bitter, metallic and otherwise difficult actives more effectively than ever before.
"This leap gives brands richer sensory experiences and greater formulation flexibility, ensuring products remain both highly effective and truly pleasant to take."
Optimizing Efficacy and Experience — With a Health and Longevity Twist
By reducing reliance on sugar and artificial additives for taste-masking, Velious 3.0 is said to offer formulators a tool to design functional products that optimize both efficacy and sensory experience.
What's more, since sugar can contribute to weight gain as well as skin wrinkling and sagging, its sugar-free positioning appeals to health-conscious consumers.
According to Gotar, the company has its eye on this well-aging space. Currently, ongoing research is focused on broadening flavor diversity, tailoring sensory experiences for specific markets, and ensuring formulas remain at the forefront of safety and performance.
But looking ahead, he adds, "future developments may extend beyond beauty into the longevity space, enabling the incorporation of actives once considered 'too difficult' to formulate palatably, alongside innovative spin-offs that further enhance consumer enjoyment and brand differentiation."
