Consumer packaged foods company Conagra Brands announced the introduction of front-of-pack labeling for its Healthy Choice line. This label, titled “On Track," will indicate which meals are high in protein and suited for consumers using GLP-1 medications, such as Ozempic.
GLP-1 medications are typically used to help manage Type 2 diabetes and support weight loss by suppressing appetite. Because this can lead to a reduced nutrient intake, Conagra Brands leveraged its Healthy Choice line to cater to GLP-1 users.
The company notes that no formulation changes have been made to the products; the badge highlights existing products suited for those on the medication.
“The increased use of GLP-1 medications presents an exciting opportunity to support Americans managing diabetes and weight loss, as well as those seeking to lead a healthier lifestyle,” said Bob Nolan, vice president of demand science at Conagra Brands. “Our ‘On Track’ badge reflects our commitment to provide accessible, healthy meal options tailored to their needs.”
Conagra Brands will introduce the “On Track” badge on select Healthy Choice SKUs beginning in January 2025, including the Healthy Choice Café Steamersa and Simply Steamers.
