The British Society of Flavourists will be holding a webinar with Chiara Cordero, full professor of food chemistry at the University of Turin, Italy, presenting her talk, "Artificial Intelligence Smelling: can multidimensional chromatography play a (key) role?"
The webinar will be held on April 12, 2022 at 7:30 pm BST.
Admission is free for BSF members and tickets can be purchased at £5 for students, £20 for non-members and £5 for BSP members.
Cordero’s research interests focus on development of innovative and advanced instrumental configurations for detailed chemical characterization of food, development and application of miniaturized, fully automated and solvent-free sample preparation approaches and discovery of food intake markers and metabolic fingerprint after diet-induced derangements.
In 2008, Cordero was awarded with the Leslie S. Ettre Award for “original research in capillary gas chromatography with an emphasis on environmental and food safety" and in 2014, she received the John B. Phillips Award for her research activity in the field of comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography. In 2016, Cordero was included by The Analytical Scientist in the “Women Power List” as one of the 50 most influencing women in the analytical sciences.
