1. Top 3 Fragrance Ingredient Trends from SIMPPAR 2025
The International Exhibition of Raw Materials for Perfumery (SIMPPAR), held June 4 and 5 in Paris, allowed attendees to explore a wide range of ingredients and solutions for the fragrance industry. Across the show floor, associate managing editor Emily Little saw blotter sticks wafted under noses and observed so many conversations about new applications for these ingredients. The enthusiasm was contagious, and the spirit of innovation could be felt throughout the expo hall.
Emily compiled the top three trends from SIMPPAR 2025, each with their own examples of company applications.
2. The Fragrance Foundation 2025 Award Winners Announced
On June 5, 2025, The Fragrance Foundation announced the winners of its 2025 awards in a ceremony at Lincoln Center. The event celebrated excellence and innovation in American fragrance in 19 categories.
“This is the fragrance industry’s biggest night,” said president Linda G. Levy. “It’s the one night when the fragrance community from the big, bold names to the independent creators come together to celebrate the creativity and craftsmanship of our industry, and the remarkable achievements of the people behind the scents. What a celebration it was from tonight’s winners who took home their coveted trophies to our illustrious honorees who have made such an indelible mark on the American fragrance industry.”
3. ARKS Enters Fragrance Category with Launch of ARKS Day
ARKS, an Indian premium lifestyle brand founded by actor Ranbir Kapoor, announced the launch of its first-ever fragrance: ARKS Day. The brand states that this launch marks the beginning of its “sensory chapter,” expanding the brand's offerings from textures to scents.
“ARKS Day brings back a lot of memories from my childhood – the places I felt drawn to, the people who made me feel at home,” Kapoor said. “We wanted to capture that essence in this first bottle. It’s familiar, grounding and made for those who carry their world with quiet strength.”
4. Laundry Sauce Introduces Mojave Peach Fragrance
Fabric care brand Laundry Sauce expanded its offerings with a new fragrance: Mojave Peach. The fragrance will be available in the brand’s laundry pods, dryer sheets, and in-wash scent booster.
Laundry Sauce, launched in 2022, combines its high-performance fabric care formulas with high-end fragrances from top perfumers. Sabine de Tscharner, perfumer with dsm-firmenich and principal perfumer for the brand, was inspired by a legend of a peach tree in the Mojave Desert for this new scent.
“I was inspired by the texture of the peach, the pulp, the nectar and the fuzzy skin, and I wanted to bring that sensorial experience to the fragrance because it makes your clothes feel soft, comfortable and enveloping.”
5. Scentmate by dsm-firmenich Outlines Three Olfactive Trends Shaping Air Care This Summer
Scentmate by dsm-firmenich announced its three olfactive trends for the air care market for the summer. According to the platform, consumers are spending more time at home focusing on self-care and mood enhancing rituals, thus seeking air care products as a tool for relaxation. The platform’s data states that 79% of users say that air care products contribute to a greater sense of well-being at home.
Further, the air care category is the second fastest-growing category in Europe, following personal beauty, with a growth rate of 6.6%. Europe currently holds 24% of the air care market share, just behind North America.
