On September 3, 2024, Symrise hosted an inauguration ceremony to celebrate the company's first facility for cosmetic ingredients in Chennai, located in Tamil Nadu, India. The state-of-the-art manufacturing site is designed to blend a wide range of high-quality ingredients for the Indian market and is said to represent an important milestone in Symrise’s growth strategy in the Asia-Pacific region.
The multi-functional facility boasts a total area of 1,788 square meters and is said to house packaging and raw material storage capabilities in addition to its advanced blending facilities.
Inauguration attendees from the Symrise management included Chung Sin Wong, vice president of Cosmetic Ingredients, Asia Pacific; and Surya Lukito, director of Cosmetic Ingredients, South Asia & SEAO, and Yohanna Sander, vice president of Micro Protection.
Wong shared, “I feel optimistic about the opportunities that this addition to Symrise’s manufacturing portfolio will bring. Chennai represents more than a factory,” he said. “It forms a blueprint for sustainable growth and strategic expansion.”
