Symrise is strengthening its position in high-value natural fragrance ingredients with the planned acquisition of Floral Concept, a French specialist in premium botanical extracts, in a move that creates a new naturals hub in the heart of Grasse and underscores the growing strategic importance of traceable, differentiated naturals in fine fragrance.

The company has signed a put option agreement to acquire 100% of Floral Concept, headquartered in Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne in France's renowned Pays de Grasse. Expected to close in the third quarter of 2026, the transaction will combine Floral Concept with Maison Lautier 1795, Symrise's historic naturals business, establishing premium naturals cluster within the company's fragrance division.

The acquisition reflects rising demand from fragrance brands for authentic, sustainably sourced and highly differentiated natural ingredients that provide unique olfactive signatures. As premium and luxury fragrance markets continue to expand, access to exceptional naturals has become an increasingly important competitive advantage for fragrance houses seeking to differentiate their creations.

Founded in 2002, Floral Concept has built a reputation for sourcing, selecting and transforming some of perfumery's most prized botanicals into premium fragrance ingredients. Its portfolio includes extracts from jasmine, rose, orange blossom, ambrette and blackcurrant, supported by long-standing relationships with growers and a focus on quality, traceability and craftsmanship.

By combining Floral Concept's expertise with Maison Lautier's heritage in Grasse, Symrise will significantly expand its capabilities across the entire naturals value chain—from responsible sourcing and extraction to transformation and fragrance creation. The new Naturals cluster is designed to provide perfumers with a broader palette of premium ingredients while strengthening supply chain resilience and sustainability credentials.

The move also advances Symrise's broader One Symrise strategy, which emphasizes portfolio optimization, profitable growth and cash generation through targeted investments in higher-value businesses. For fragrance customers, the expanded naturals platform promises greater creative flexibility and access to increasingly sought-after botanical ingredients as demand for authenticity, transparency and premium storytelling continues to reshape fine fragrance development.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“With Floral Concept, we contemplate acquiring a high-quality growth platform fully aligned with the One Symrise strategic priorities," said Michael Friede, president Scent & Care segment. "While Symrise already has a proven track record in high-performing naturals for food applications, especially since the Diana acquisition in 2014, and with our existing Naturals business for fragrances Maison Lautier 1795, we will build on Floral Concept's capabilities and, together with our existing capabilities, establish a best-in-class Naturals platform in Grasse dedicated to fragrances. I am convinced this will support the continued evolution of our portfolio towards more differentiated, resilient and value-creating businesses."

“We have built Floral Concept around quality, authenticity and long-term relationships with producers and customers," said Frédérique Rémy, general manager, Floral Concept. "In Symrise, we see a partner that understands Naturals, values the Grasse ecosystem and can support the next phase of Floral Concept’s development through its global reach and fragrance expertise."

“Together, we have created an opportunity to expand creative and technical possibilities in premium natural ingredients," said Ricardo Omori, president global fragrance division at Symrise. "By combining Floral Concept's sourcing and extraction expertise with Maison Lautier's heritage of innovation, we will create a new benchmark for creativity, quality, and sustainability in perfumery."
