Spanish fragrance house Eurofragance announced its plans to unveil its fourth proprietary perfumery ingredient at Beautyworld Middle East in Dubai on October 27, 2025. The ingredient, Olivante, is made from upcycled olive pulp through a 100% natural process.
According to the company’s press release, Olivante has phenolic and animal notes reminiscent of castoreum. The house’s R&D manager and technical perfumer spent two years working with Spanish olive growers and waste management engineers to develop the proprietary process for Olivante.
“Olivante cannot be made from any random olive pulp,” R&D manager Felipe San Juan said. “Terroir and climate from a very specific region of spain are key to this project. Then we applied our scientific expertise to characterize and separate the essential odorant molecules needed to develop a desirable captive ingredient.”
Olivante can be used in fine fragrances, personal care and air care products. Further, it offers a natural alternative for consumers seeking richer scents.
“In recent years we have seen how consumers in the West have opened up to Middle Eastern perfumery,” said perfumer Belén Garcia. “Powerful notes of leather and mud have gained consumer acceptance will beyond the Gulf Region. Olivante is multi-faceted and offers some of these olfactive aspects that are now appreciated across geographies.”
