Gum Labdanum
Ernesto Ventós
This gum is the beautiful result of the Andalusian fields in summer. The Cistus ladanifer plant produces a resin on leaves and twigs to protect itself from the burning summer heat. The plant is harvested, and the resin is extracted by boiling. The gum is a perfume itself, strong, balsamic, amber, earthy and little bit honey-like. Ventós takes the best from the gum labdanum and offers the labdanum coeur, a molecular distillation of the gum labdanum (CAS# 89997-74-0), totally free of carrier. This light-brown liquid has all the gum scent in a liquid form and it is perfect to be used as a fine fragrance compound.
