Türkiye’s fragrance industry stepped into the global spotlight with the debut of the Marie Claire Türkiye Fragrance Awards 2026, a landmark event celebrating the country’s deep-rooted scent heritage alongside a new wave of modern perfumery innovation.
Hosted by Marie Claire Turkey, the nation’s first licensed magazine, the ceremony marked a defining moment in its 38-year history—bringing together heritage, artistry, and science in a sophisticated showcase of olfactive excellence. In her opening remarks, Editor-in-Chief Serli Gazer framed perfume as a powerful personal signature, underscoring scent’s emotional resonance and enduring impact.
That connection between past and present echoed throughout the evening. Awards spokesperson Rana Babaç Çelebi, Ph.D, highlighted Türkiye’s legacy as a cradle of aromatic knowledge, linking ancient practices—from incense rituals to early recorded formulations—to today’s refined creations. The event positioned modern perfumery as a continuation of this centuries-spanning sensory dialogue.
Winners were selected through a rigorous, blind evaluation process, recognizing achievements across design, innovation and craftsmanship. Among the top honors, Mişel Gülçiçek received the Lifetime Service Award, while brands such as Atelier Rebul, Imprime, and Puzzle Perfume emerged as standout names across multiple categories. Notably, a collaboration between Bvlgari and digital artist Refik Anadol signaled the growing intersection of fragrance with art and technology.
Category winners spanned everything from home scenting to niche perfumery, reflecting a market that is both diversifying and elevating its creative standards. Atelier Rebul dominated several categories, reinforcing its role in translating Turkish scent heritage into contemporary formats.
Backed by major industry players including MG International Fragrance Company, Parkim Fragrance House and Givaudan, the event underscored Türkiye’s ambition to position itself as a serious force in the global fragrance landscape—bridging tradition and innovation through the universal language of scent.
