Scent Beauty (the house behind celebrity scents for Sabrina Carpenter, Dolly Parton and more) has partnered with country music artist Megan Moroney to launch Calliope, the singer's debut fragrance, with Takasago perfumer Michelle DeFina developing a composition that balances luminous florals with a contemporary mineral-musky drydown.

Drawing inspiration from Calliope, the Greek muse of epic poetry and storytelling, the fragrance was designed to reflect Moroney's songwriting, which often explores vulnerability, resilience and emotional authenticity. According to the brand, DeFina translated those themes into an accessible, everyday signature scent with a fresh, airy structure.

The fragrance opens with peach blossom, sparkling citrus notes and ambergris, creating a bright introduction that blends fruity-floral freshness with subtle marine warmth. At its heart, frangipani, pink peony and jasmine provide a radiant white-floral accord, adding creamy and petal-like facets while maintaining transparency. The base shifts toward a more modern skin scent, where mineral notes, ambroxan, orris root and musk deliver a clean, diffusive trail with mineral, woody and powdery nuances.

The composition reflects the continued popularity of mineral-amber floral fragrances, combining high-impact diffusive materials such as ambroxan with soft musks and orris to create a long-lasting yet understated profile suitable for daily wear.

Moroney said she spent more than 18 months developing the fragrance, describing it as "fresh, effortless, and meant to be an everyday signature." She also incorporated handwritten lyrics from her song You Shine onto the bottle as a reminder that "the most beautiful things come from broken pieces."

The packaging reinforces that narrative through a heart-shaped bottle inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi, in which broken pottery is repaired with precious metals to celebrate rather than conceal its history. Gold detailing references the technique while symbolizing strength and transformation.

Steve Mormoris, CEO of Scent Beauty, said the goal was to create "a fragrance that feels personal, aspirational and unmistakably Megan," while congratulating DeFina for translating the artist's creative vision into an olfactive expression.

Calliope debuted July 15 through direct-to-consumer channels, including Fragrance by Megan Moroney and Scent Beauty, in 100 ml ($55), 30 ml ($35) and 10 ml ($10) eau de parfum formats, as well as a body mist. The fragrance will launch at U.S. retailers including Walmart, JCPenney, CVS and Urban Outfitters on August 15, 2026, followed by an exclusive Superdrug launch in the U.K. market on September 1, 2026. The rollout will be supported by consumer sampling, immersive retail activations and an integrated marketing campaign tied to Moroney's Cloud 9 Tour.
