Wixon, Inc. (St Francis, Wisconsin), has launched new “mood creating” snack seasonings for chips, nuts, fruits, dried vegetables and snack mixes. The new flavor samples include naughty, excited, angry, on vacation, and cheerful moods.
Of the launch, Mindy Edwards, flavor chemist at Wixon said, “Our research indicates that consumers … are looking for foods to trigger an emotion. If they are stressed, they may look for a food that makes them calm. Or if they are feeling snowbound after a long winter, they may want something to remind them of a tropical vacation … We’ve put a new twist on flavors that can influence or re-create a particular mood.”

!['[R]etaining this next generation will depend on continuing to position flavor science as a field where individuals can combine scientific excellence with creativity and real-world impact, shaping how consumers experience food in ways that improve both health and sustainability,' says John Savage, IOFI president and president and CEO of Taste at Kerry.](https://img.perfumerflavorist.com/mindful/allured/workspaces/default/uploads/2026/07/john-savage.Cws5vQDBLp.jpg?auto=format%2Ccompress&fit=crop&h=191&q=70&w=340)
