Lallemand is expanding its specialty cultures business through the acquisition of International Flavors & Fragrances' (IFF) meat cultures portfolio, strengthening its range of microorganism-based solutions for meat applications.
The acquisition adds complementary technologies and expertise to Lallemand's existing portfolio, including Texel starter and surface cultures, as well as bioprotective cultures.
The move builds on Lallemand Specialty Cultures' 60 years of experience in meat cultures and expands its capabilities across production, applications, innovation and customer collaboration. The enlarged portfolio is intended to help the company address a broader range of meat application needs while strengthening its position in specialty cultures for food applications.
“We are delighted to welcome this range from IFF into the Lallemand Specialty Cultures portfolio,” said Lauriane Fillous, general manager of Lallemand Specialty Cultures. “This integration strengthens and complements our existing offer, enhancing our ability to support customers with carefully selected microorganism-based solutions, strong technical expertise, and a shared passion for fermentation.”
Lallemand said it will work closely with customers throughout the transition to maintain continuity of supply, technical support and service, while creating additional opportunities for innovation and growth.
The acquisition further consolidates Lallemand's presence in fermentation-based food solutions, with an expanded portfolio spanning starter, surface and protective cultures.
