
Specialty chemical and ingredient company IMCD Group announced the modernization of its food and nutrition application laboratory in Germany, which has officially reopened as its Cologne site.
IMCD is headquartered in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and is a leading global partner in the beauty, personal care, food and beverage, home care and pharmaceutical industries. The company has over 80 application laboratories across 60 countries to offer co-creation and formulation support.
According to the company’s press release, the Cologne site will combine three specialized laboratory areas under one roof: food and nutrition, pharmaceutical, and beauty and personal care. Company officials hope that this move will strengthen IMCD’s position as an innovator in the German food and beverage industry.
“The new Life Science Hub strengthens interdisciplinary product development and provides our food and beverage customers with a best-in-class environment for application support, technical consulting and regulatory support with the aim of developing innovative and market-ready solutions,” said Daniel Dany, business unit manager of food and nutrition at IMCD Germany.
Katja Wilmes, application technologist of the food and nutrition business unit, added, “with our modern equipment, the test kitchen and the interdisciplinary interfaces, we can support our customers even more specifically with demanding recipes. Whether we intensify the taste, improve the mouthfeel, extend the shelf-life or enrich the products with nutrients, we combine the right ingredients with technical expertise. This results in new solutions that can be quickly adapted to changing market conditions.”
The new IMCD Cologne site is nop open for customer visits and joint projects.
