Sony has filed a patent that indicates the use of scents in upcoming PlayStation games, according to ScreenRant.

The patent was filed on February 4, 2021 and expands on the technology that delivers metadata for haptic events during video playback. 

This would allow game users to experience scents as part of the sensory experience. The patent also describes more haptics in games such as taste through a mouthpiece.
