According to these inventors, the limited period of noticeability for fragrances is typically a result of their volatility. In order to compensate for this limited noticeability, consumers often spray a fragrance multiple times during the day to extend the period of noticeability.

However, this reapplication may not be desirable as it requires them to carry containers of fine fragrance to reapply it during the day. Described in this patent application is a method of providing a longer-lasting fragrance and a kit for delivering it by dispensing microcapsules and a volatile solvent.
