On August 11, 2025, Infinity Fragrances announced the official opening of its new 25,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Somerset, New Jersey. The new facility will help the company better serve its growing customer base across various industries.

2. AXE Commissions Survey to Reveal Gen Z Fragrance Preferences
Personal care brand AXE commissioned a study of over 2,000 Americans aged 16-30 to determine the top fragrances that Gen Z associates with confidence and charisma. The results revealed five distinct categories that are most popular among younger consumers.
The brand claims in its press release that the findings of the survey support the idea that Gen Z consumers use fragrance as a “social signal.”
“The findings suggest that fragrance is deeply tied to how Gen Z experiences social confidence,” the company states. “Nearly one in three respondents said the way they smell helps them feel more confident in social settings, raking just behind their outfit and presence of friends. For many, scent isn’t just about hygiene or grooming; it’s a tool for self-expression and making a memorable impression.”
3. Forward Thinking: 3 Fragrance Trends Happening Now
According to Circana, for the first quarter of 2025, fragrance continues to hold its place as the top-performer in the U.S. beauty industry, with dollar sales up 4% in the prestige channel and 8% in the mass market.

4. Takasago Helps Develop Self-Report Scale for Relaxation Effects of Flavors and Fragrances
Takasago International Corporation collaborated with University of Tokyo associate professor Kensuke Okada to publish a research paper in Scientific Reports on the links between stress and scent. The researchers developed a scale to measure subjective relaxation effects of certain smells.
“In modern society, there is an increasing demand for the relaxation effects of flavors and fragrances,” Takasago stated in a press release. “However, until now, there has been no established psychological scale to measure these effects directly. This research analyzed responses from individuals who experienced various odors, which resulted in developing a new psychological scale with high reliability and validity. By utilizing this scale, we aim to verify the relaxation effects of various odors and contribute to the realization of a well-being society.”
