Apartment Therapy in collaboration with home scent diffuser Aera created a collection of two app-controlled diffusers in trend-forward colors and three signature fragrance capsules.
The limited-edition mini diffusers are available in Forest Green and Terracotta, two deep, traditional colors that are said to signal a desire for coziness. Terracotta is a rich, earthy tone designed to invite comfort and connection, while the Forest Green’s moody hue is said to elevate a home’s ambiance with a touch of vintage charm and a sense of calm.
The Apartment Therapy for Aera collection capsules is made from a combination of essential oils and naturally identical molecules, inspired by English Cottage, Tuscan Villa and Brooklyn Brownstone. Aera’s diffuser is said to use patented microdroplet technology to create a hypoallergenic scent using only safe and sustainable fragrance ingredients.
3 Home Scent Diffuser Fragrance Descriptions
- English Cottage: In the idyllic waterlily pond of an English cottage garden, this fragrance unfolds its tale. Lemon and grapefruit evoke sunlit mornings, while tuberose and waterlily dance on the pond’s surface. Hyacinth and violet leaf add verdant freshness, grounded by warm amber. Featured notes include Water Lily and Violet Leaf.
- Brooklyn Brownstone: Capturing urban sophistication, this fragrance evokes the charm of Brooklyn’s brick townhouses. Aged cedarwood and cedar leaf blend with a smoky hearth essence. Guaiac wood and amber base notes exude warmth, echoing Brooklyn’s historic allure. Featured notes include Cedarwood and Amber.
- Tuscan Villa: In the symphony of Florence, clary sage and lavender saturate the villa. Their camphoraceous allure evokes a floral tapestry cascading from tall walls. Pink pepper and green bergamot heighten the contrast, evoking terracotta tiles and modern elegance. Featured notes include Cypress and Pink Pepper.
Aera diffusers connect over WiFi with adjustable settings (1-10) for small, medium, or large rooms, and a session button for 2, 4 and 8-hour sessions, allowing users to control the scent schedule all from their smartphone.
“Partnering with Aera to personalize their technology and creating signature scents inspired by the countless homes Apartment Therapy has chronicled is very exciting,” said Maxwell Ryan, founder of Apartment Therapy. “We have been polling and keeping tabs on trends for twenty years and we always aim to be ahead of the curve. Unlike the past few years, we're seeing a real return to deep, traditional colors that are darker than usual and we think signal a desire for coziness, stability and longevity at home.”
“The partnership with Maxwell and Apartment Therapy was nothing short of inspiring. Together, we curated a collection that draws from the architectural elegance synonymous with Apartment Therapy. Each fragrance transports you to a distinct place, evoking its structure and ambiance,“ stated Sandra Barvaux, VP of Fragrance at Aera.
