Blackperfumers.com has announced the addition of nine Black-owned fragrance brands to its website, continuing its mission of connecting, highlighting and promoting Black perfumers worldwide. The latest additions include:

  • Aromachaura
  • Brown Girl Jane
  • 8-12
  • La Botica NYC
  • Love, Grace
  • Mack N Gnosh
  • Samar
  • Superb for Men
  • White Label Fragrances

In a recent release, site founder, Elle N, stated, "BlackPerfumers.com wouldn't have got its start without the support of [the] Institute for Art and Olfaction (IAO); I can't say enough about this wonderful organization and the wonderful people who run it. They are often one of the first resources I encourage emerging scent makers to seek out and explore."

The site is currently participating in IAO's Twelve Encounters event, running until December 31, 2022, at IAO Gallery (932 Chung King Road, Los Angeles CA 90012).

The exhibiting artists created olfactory interpretations of the meeting of a snake queen and a wood seller, artificial intelligence and the last human on earth, a Dutch trader and a Japanese shogun and other consequential encounters. Using their sense of smell, visitors to the gallery can participate in these important moments of human confluence.

BlackPerfumers.com is also set to host its annual Scented Social on Saturday, December 10, at The Black Home (7 William St, Newark, New Jersey, 07102).
