Custom food and beverage company OSF Flavors announced the launch of its angel hair chocolate flavor, inspired by the social media phenomenon.
Angel hair chocolate is a Middle Eastern confection featuring white chocolate stuffed with Pişmaniye, a Turkish cotton candy, and pistachio cream. This confection has gained popularity on social media for its pull-apart visuals and whimsical aesthetic.
“The challenge for food and beverage brands in leveraging social media trends such as angel hair chocolate, which are primarily visual in nature, is to convert them into a full sensory experience,” company officials at OSF Flavors said. “The original appeal of angel hair chocolate is largely aesthetic - featuring delicate, fibrous textures - so brands will need to bridge that with flavor, texture and creative packaging.”
OSF Flavors’ new offering includes notes of white chocolate, pistachio and cotton candy. Further, the flavor can be used in several different categories, including bakery, dairy, nutrition, confectionery and snacks.
