Machine construction company Fricke, headquartered in Minden, Germany, has won the German Brand Award 2022 for the first time.

The company was declared the winner in the category of Excellence Brands ‒ Industry, Machines & Engineering, as well as receiving a special mention in the category of Excellence Brands ‒ Product Brand of the Year. At a prize-giving ceremony on June 9 in Berlin, the jury, comprising members of the German Brand Institute and the German Design Council, paid tribute to Fricke for excellent brand management and successful positioning of its brands.

The prize for successful brand management in Germany was initiated by the leading German authority on design and brands, the German Design Council. Judged by a panel of branding experts from industry and academia, it identifies, presents and honors unique brands and brand creators. The German Brand Award achieved a wide international response in 2022 with about 1,200 entries from 19 countries. A total of 65 projects and brands received a gold award, 27 for Excellent Brands and 38 for Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation.
