As we look ahead to 2025, the P&F+ team looked at our Google Analytics to determine the top articles of the past year. Below are the top five flavor industry articles of 2024.

1. 6 Fine Fragrance Trends for Fall 2024 According to Scentmate by dsm-firmenich

Scentmate by dsm-firmenich has outlined the main olfactory trends shaping the fine fragrance market this autumn and winter of 2024. According to the platform, there is an increased sensitivity to social and environmental issues among consumers over the past three years has led to significant changes in personal care routines and purchasing habits. Scentmate has framed the evolution of trends for this autumn and winter in four major sensory concepts: the elevation of clean scents, premium fruits, floral extreme, and back to the roots, which translate into the six following olfactory trends. 

2. Vyrao Introduces Genderless Fragrance Mamajuju with Neuroscience-backed Emotional Benefits

Vyrao is introducing Mamajuju, a genderless fragrance for grounding and awareness said to boast neuroscience-backed emotional benefits. According to a release, Mamajuju is known to enhance relaxation, self-esteem and memory, said to be proven by IFF's proprietary Science of Wellness program to determine which ingredients have the greatest impact on the brain's perceptions of scent.

3. Procter & Gamble Outlines 3 Factors Why People are Attracted to Scented Household Products

In a peer-reviewed paper published in Cognitive Research Principles and ImplicationsProcter & Gamble (P&G) representatives as well as scholars alongside Fragrance Creators Association's president and CEO Farah K. Ahmed proposed three factors to explain why people are attracted to scented household products.

Rafael Trujillo, R&D vice president, Victor Mills Society and master perfumer at P&G and a paper co-author shared, “Scent and fragrance play a huge role in consumer purchasing behaviors. Perhaps, if we can learn more about what people prefer, and why they prefer those elements, we can create even better experiences and products that deliver superior performance.”
