Ethnicity and Fragrance

A new ethnic consumer report from NPD Group, The Changing Face of Beauty, highlights the fact that “‘women of color’ are diverse, rapidly changing and defy generalization.” Among the highlights, NPD states that African American women are the most likely among all ethnic groups to use fragrances or bath products. In addition, Asian consumers seek fragrances that are fresh, light and clean, as opposed to feminine. All other ethnic groups, meanwhile, primarily seek femininity in a scent.
