The Coco de Mer Fragrance Company announced the launch of its fragrance collection in the United States. The fragrances are formulated from the coco de mer palm, or sea coconut, a large seed found only in the Seychelles.
Coco de Mer Fragrance company is an independently-owned fragrance importing company, and the fragrance collection is the creation of Sharon Bonne and her parents. According to the company’s press release, Bonne’s mother and father created a patented extraction process to release the unique aroma from the palm, and the family works with local artisans to preserve the shell and fruit.
The fragrance collection includes five unisex scents, each with its own Seychellois-Creole name.
“The coco de mer is more than just a plant; it’s a symbol of our heritage, a source of wonder and inspiration,” Bonne said. “We display them as natural fine art and fertility symbols in our homes.”
The Coco de Mer collection is available for purchase on the brand’s website.
