Experimental flavors are driving the pre-made salsa category, according to a new report from IBISWorld. Driven by a growing embrace of Hispanic flavor profiles throughout the United States, the category is expected to grow 2.9% annually to $1.0 billion over the next five years.
According to the report, “65% of industry revenue comes from 'medium' spiciness salsas, but flavor and originality dictate most of the new product introductions.”
“Pace salsa has introduced more than 10 different flavors including peach mango, bourbon and apple and southwest chipotle,” says said IBISWorld analyst Melissa Imbruglia.
