Innovation and Expertise Make Sensient a Premier Partner
While there will always be economic forces and market conditions that challenge our employees to optimize resources and innovate new solutions, Sensient maintains our ongoing commitment to transparency, exceptional quality, and respect for the environment.
Innovation is one of the major areas of investment. Sensient’s experienced innovation team are experts in formulating natural flavors, extracts, and colors that work in our customers’ products. We are channeling this deep knowledge toward creating new taste technologies to meet the health and wellness aspirations of our consumers. As more consumers show preference for such products and new regulatory requirements takes shape, there will always be a need to balance taste with health. This market gap demand remains a natural area for Sensient to showcase its innovation.
Last year, we expanded our Trueboosta technology portfolio to support sugar and salt-reduction-driven product development. This spectrum of natural, clean-label flavors supports some of the toughest reformulations as well as new product creation challenges. Our innovative masking solutions complement these technologies to balance out off-notes to improve overall taste. These highly advanced taste technologies provide our customers with the avenues to create healthy products without compromising on consumers' expectations of taste.
On the agriculture front, Sensient BioNutrients continues to work to help growers meet that challenge with its BloomGenix line of natural, sustainable plant nutrition solutions. Working toward the large-scale goal of increasing yield while reducing agricultural footprint and judiciously caring for the agricultural ecosystem, BloomGenix showcases Sensient’s ability to support plant growth, cultivation, and processing.
Sustainability
Sensient seeks to be forward-thinking in sustainability practices at every level and is committed to the principles of sound environmental stewardship. Having surpassed our 2025 sustainability goals already in 2022, we have set new, ambitious but attainable goals for 2030. Informed by our culture of integrity, Sensient does not promise to do the impossible. We focus on what is sustainably achievable.
Sensient’s sustainability strategy is built on five pillars:

4. Sustainable Supply Chain
5. Sustainable Product Design
There is always more that can be done, but the results of our efforts will inform the future of our industry. Therefore, our updated targets are very ambitious.
Sensient is making progress toward its 2030 targets (using a 10-year lookback as our baseline measure for improvement):
1. We are on track to reduce carbon intensity of greenhouse gas emissions by 30%.
2. We are on track to reduce our overall water withdrawal by 30%. We are already ahead of schedule to reduce water withdrawal intensity by 30% in areas categorized as having high or extremely high-water stress levels.
3. We have almost reached our goal of increasing our average landfill diversion to 75%.
4. We are utilizing SEDEX and EcoVadis programs while strengthening our internal tracking of relevant supplier data.
5. We are on track to incorporate a sustainable design principles checklist into 100% of our innovation projects by the end of this year.

Sensient’s new product development strategy focuses on helping our customers bring great products to market. We demand that all of our employees, from sales and marketing to regulatory and legal be responsive to the needs of our customers. We move much faster than most companies. We innovate in ways that help our customers succeed in meeting current demands.
For example, our SensaCraft Alcohol-Free Alcohol Type flavor platform provides all the tools manufacturers need to develop the perfect "mocktail," which many younger consumers are increasingly demanding. We create clean labels and organic, functional products using extracts with true-to-source flavor profiles and technology that can balance taste expectations with functional demands. We create products that satisfy the ever-changing regulations on sugar and sodium content while maintaining taste profiles. We are always working to develop new and more effective modulators even before regulations go into effect.
A Strategic Focus on the Future
Sensient will continue to focus on innovation that exceeds our customers’ expectations, delivering solutions that perform in the most demanding applications.
