Jean-François Quarré, founder and president of Quimdis from 1988 to 2021, passed away on Feb 7, 2022, at 69 years old.

After studying in ESSEC, Quarré joined his father and uncle in the family company, Marcel Quarré & Co., where he took over the essential oil department.

Quarré founded Quimdis in 1988 with two partners, Claire Couratier and Michel Manalt, while continuing the family business started by his great-grandfather.

He was also active in various industry associations, like SIEMPPA, as a member of the board, and EFEO, which he helped found and served as president from 2018 to 2020.

Below is a note shared on behalf of the Azelis/Quimbis team:

"Under his presidency, Quimdis has grown for more than 30 years. With nearly 80 employees today, the family spirit, which was so important to him, has remained firmly anchored in the company’s DNA.

He was fully involved in the transfer of Quimdis, in 2021, to the Azelis group. It is now hand in hand that we perpetuate his legacy and values.

Appreciated and highly respected by all, he will be remembered for his benevolence, his open-mindedness and constant positive attitude.

Our thoughts go out to his wife and family, to his loved ones as well as to all Quimdis employees past and present, deeply affected by this loss."
