WFFC Announces Recipients of the 2013 Scholarship Awards

Women in Flavor & Fragrance Commerce has announced the 2013 WFFC scholarship award recipients.

Lauren Musumeci is the 2013 recipient of the Rita Flynn Memorial Fragrance Scholarship Award. She is currently finishing her master’s in food science at Cornell University. WFFC notes that Musumeci’s accomplishments and passion to inspire and educate young women fully align with the goals of the WFFC. Her current involvement with Expanding Your Horizons focuses on encouraging young women to pursue careers in science, mathematics, engineering and technology.

Kayla Babbush is the 2013 recipient of the WFFC Flavor Scholarship Award. A freshman at Cornell University, Babbush is studying for a bachelor’s degree in food science and is focused on safety and contamination to prevent foodborne illnesses. As a child, she was actively involved with her family owned dairy business. Presently, along with a number of other student associations, she is the co-founder of Teens for Life, which raises money for CPR and Automatic External Defibrillator trainings for high school students and faculty.
