Aurochemicals has received a Safe Quality Food (SQF) E—Excellent rating, for the fifth consecutive year.
This also marks the fourth year in a row the company received a score of 99%. The rating is conferred by the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI); the SQF Food Safety Code for manufacturing certification is a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) based food safety plan, benchmarked by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
SQF certification recognizes the system and processes the company uses in developing and manufacturing its products, and the superior safety and quality of the completed products. Companies that wish to become SQF certified must go through steps including:
- Registering the company with the SQF assessment database;
- Designating an employee as an SQF practitioner;
- Choosing a level of certification; and, eventually,
- Passing an audit, performed by a licensed SQF certification body, which includes reviews of documents, interviews with staff and an assessment of the company’s facility
The audit also helps companies improve their process and food safety management systems, assisting in identifying and managing potential risks that the applying company faces. Companies achieving certification have fulfilled the rigorous standards of food safety (formerly Level 2) and quality (formerly Level 3) upheld by the Institute.

In 2018, Aurochemicals completed its updated lab, doubling its size and offering new technology for research and development; it is on track to complete a 25,000-square-foot building at its headquarters, which will be utilized for product storage and manufacturing, by July 2019.
