Verto Solutions, LLC has added several new members to its staff, including Rebecca Scotland, Mathew Gulick, and Alyssa Thorsen.
Scotland joins Verto as a staff scientist that will help ensure flavor ingredient safety. She received her BA in chemistry from Mount Vernon University and her PhD in molecular and biomedical pharmacology from the University of Kentucky. She was previously a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Minnesota, where she studied stem cell signaling pathways and genetic contributions to development in vitro and in vivo.
Gulick will serve as Verto’s communications director, creating strategies for the firm’s association clients. He previously was the policy and communications director at an association in Washington, DC, and earned his BA in biology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
Thorsen will serve as an administrative assistant and joins Verto after graduating from Drexel University in Philadelphia, where she received degrees in corporate communications and hospitality management and a minor in business administration.
