Blue Marble Energy, a Seattle-based biochemical company, and Sweet Anthem Perfumery have developed a carbon neutral fragrance line, EOS. The fragrances contain biochemical and organic materials from brewery grain, which act as direct replacements to petrochemicals used in fragrances. Of this development, James Stephens, chief science officer, Blue Marble Energy, said, “The potential outlets for our biochemicals are vast … Fragrance is just one of many examples in which carbon neutral, renewable biochemicals can directly replace polluting petrochemicals in high value products.”
