On matters such as accessibility of fragrance ingredient safety data, Bill Troy (Firmenich) note that the industry "must be responsive to pressures, while at the same time defending the principles of confidential business information (CBI) upon which the trade secret status of fragrance formulas is based. Troy spoke at the start of the inaugural fall workshop and luncheon of the International Fragrance Association North America (IFRA NA, www.ifrana.org).
