Many companies have adopted, for good reason, a "wait-and-see" attitude as the proposed standards evolve. The purpose of this article is not to point to the controversy that has, at times, over-shadowed the main intent of creating the new standards. Rather, it will focus on the current activities of the Organic Personal Care Joint Committee (OPCJC), which seeks to establish realistic standards and indentify the postive impact those proposed standards could have on the product-development and marketing plans of companies committed to organic personal care.
