The Givaudan Foundation, in partnership with Swisscontact, is embarking on a multi-year initiative to support its smallholder patchouli producer communities and protect natural resources in Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Included in the initiative are training programs to be offered to more than 1,000 patchouli producers and their families on agricultural and distillation practices, household income management and nutrition; the renovation of smallholder patchouli distillation units to improve energy and reduce firewood consumption; and trees to be planted for climate-smart cultivation.
