Los Angeles-based perfume house Liquides Imaginaires introduced IMAGINARIUM, a new collection of fragrances focused on citrus hybridization.
The collection includes nine fragrances separated into three “houses”: Mandarin House, Cedrat Club and Green Terrace. Each of the nine fragrances explores unexpected pairings of fruits, spices and textures. Philippe Di Méo, founder of Liquides Imaginaires, studied phylogeny of citrus fruit and its ability to create hybrids.
“In this dream world, a family of citrus hybrids and unknown citrus fruits have grown,” Di Méo said in a blog post on the house’s website. “Each of them has its own personality and taste and olfactory properties. From bitter to gourmand, from fresh to spicy, from exotic to ambery, they represent a journey through the olfactory world.”
Liquides Imaginaires developed this collection of fragrances in collaboration with students at Givaudan’s perfumery school. The developers used custom extracts and upcycled ingredients in conjunction with artificial intelligence to create a new olfactory experience.
