In 2021, Ikea released the Huvudroll candle as part of the Ikea Store in a box package aimed at recreating the sensory experience of visiting an Ikea store. The candle was designed to mimic the smell of Ikea's Swedish meatballs.
The candles in Ikea's home fragrance collection are inspired by seasonal scents. Of the 60+ new products in the collection, some notable candles include Adlad, Avmala, Enstaka, Hedersam and Sinnlig. Each candle is made from at least 50% plant-based wax and comes in a glass vessel that can be re-used for storage.
The Adlad scented candle is reminiscent of Scandanavian forests, offering notes of amber, citrus and cypress. Avmala features notes of mint, green leaves and cedar. Enstaka is an earthy and smoky scent with sweet notes. Hedersam is designed to smell like freshly cut grass and spicy herbs. Sinnlig is a fruity scent with notes of apples and sweet pears. The Sinnlig candle uses wax with a green apple color.
