Emerald Kalama Chemical Expands At Rotterdam Site

Emerald Kalama Chemical announced that the board of directors approved to add a second benzoic acid purification and finishing process at its facility in Rotterdam, NEtherlands. The new process will add 100,000 metric tons per year capacity of high purity benzoic acid and also provide an increased production capability for benzaldehyde.

The addition is scheduled to be completed in late 2016.

With portions shrinking dramatically—some consumers reporting a shift from three or four chapatis to one or two, or from multiple bowls of rice to half a bowl—the sensory and nutritional payoff of each bite becomes increasingly important.
