A number of flavorings, including vinylbenzene, p-Mentha-1,8(10)-dien-9-ol, p-Mentha-1,8(10)-dien-9-yl acetate and diethyl trisulfide, have been removed from the European Union's list of certain flavoring substances due to low volume and/or a need for additional data.
The flavoring substances that are authorized in food and their conditions of use are listed in Part A of Annex I of Regulation (EC) No 1334/2008 on flavorings. Only flavoring substances that are in that list are authorized under specific conditions.
